Good day.

It’s now clear that fans are open to the idea of major structural change in Scottish football. As far as this site is concerned everything should be on the table.

So we would like to run another non scientific poll on the prospect of ‘Summer football’. For example instead of the conventional football season we have now would you be open to the idea of the football season running from March till November ?

We are genuinely interested in your opinions, so after taking the poll leave us a comment on why you a for or against changing the football calendar.

  1. There are many reasons on the plus side for summer football. It would bring us into line with most Euro countries. It would allow our top teams to compete in CL & Europa League on a level playing field as far as fitness levels & match readiness. All these factors could help the National team to compete better.
    It would get rid of the playing field lottery in winter months and reduce weather postponements and the difficulties in rescheduling games at the business end of the season. It would also make the match day experience better. Road conditions for traveling to and from games should be easier. Warmer conditions could help to bring more fans out to games including families.

  2. In addition to the above points there is more light which makes travelling easier and might tempt more families to attend thus changing the football audience demographic and so the current business model that depends more on aggression than skill and enjoyment.
