Positive Result For Murrayfield Football.

Positive Result For Murrayfield Football.

Thanks  to the 757 fans who took our poll on football at Murrayfield over the past 24hrs.

55% for shows fans who took part favour a move to the Home of Rugby for major football matches.

26% no vote would seem to indicate that over all more people would be happy to move. Even if the 11% who would like more info did decide that Murrayfield was not an option that would only take those against a move to 37%.

This poll is in no way scientific but it does show that the case for Murrayfield should be seriously considered by the Authorities. Whether they do or not is another matter.

We now await to see if the SFA will canvas fan opinion.

The Murrayfield Question – Poll

Happy Monday.
As you will all know the SFA are to listen to Murrayfield’s pitch for hosting Scottish football Internationals and national finals.

Rather than wait for the SFA to consult fans we thought we’d canvas your opinion now. We would also love to hear the thoughts of Hearts and Celtic fans and anyone else who has attended a football match at Murrayfield. Please leave a comment. Continue reading “The Murrayfield Question – Poll”

The Honest Mistakers. By Hugobaws

The Honest Mistakers. By Hugobaws

Formula 1 is governed by a bewildering set of ‘technical’ rules and regulations which quite frankly would be a waste of brain power trying to understand. Apparently, it’s a Sport where inferior cars trying to overtake a guy in this year’s fastest car. But it’s occasionally entertaining and this weekend, Christian Horner, Mr Nice Guy of Red Bull, lost the plot in one post- race interview Continue reading “The Honest Mistakers. By Hugobaws”

Corporate Vandalism and Scottish Football

Corporate Vandalism and Scottish Football

The book, “The Smartest Guys in the Room” opens with one-time high-flying Enron Executive Cliff Baxter, point a .357 Magnum at his head and pull the trigger. As the architect of one of the USA’s largest Corporate scandals, it may have simply been guilt that drove him to extreme action, or fear of the backlash and humiliation. Enron of course was a game changer, a tale of Corporate vandalism, greed and arrogance, with dramatic consequences for the stock market, people’s life’s/jobs/careers. Martyr Syndrome – Double Standards, Doublespeak and cognitive dissonance.

Martyr Syndrome – Double Standards, Doublespeak and cognitive dissonance.

The ability of many football fans and professional observers to bury their head in the sand or apply their standards only when it suits them is symptomatic of a wider social problem. Some of you may call it ‘Martyr Syndrome’:

  • The martyr fails to take responsibility for his/her life, instead blaming all failures, oppression, repression and unhappiness on his/her family and friends. The martyr also exaggerates his/her level of hardship and mistreatment and ends up alienating those he/she loves.

SFSA and FAC Evidence To Justice Com 03-10-2017

Another blot on the Scottish football landscape is the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act 2012. The Scottish governments ham-fisted attempt to defeat bigotry and sectarianism in Scotland by only targeting football supporters. Continue reading “SFSA and FAC Evidence To Justice Com 03-10-2017”

Team work makes the dream work. – SFA

Team work makes the dream work. – SFA

Football is a team game. It’s why I am such a fanatic, I absolutely love playing football and have done for as long as I can remember. Don’t make the mistake of thinking I am fanatical about watching professional football. I used to be; but not anymore. There’s no doubting that players like Messi & Ronaldo and these types of players are a joy to watch. The thing I love most about football is how the right attitude, application and combined efforts of 11 disparate people can come together and achieve sporting greatness against the odds.
